The application cycle for 2025-2026 is opened and closes by March 27, 2026.

We encourage applications from any advanced undergraduate (third- and fourth-year) students, bachelor of arts (B.A.) degree graduates, and terminal master of arts (M.A.) degree students, especially those from diverse cultural, economic, geographic, and ethnic backgrounds who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in the fields of languages, linguistics, literatures, and cultures.

To apply, submit a one-page, single-spaced cover letter as a PDF to MentoringfortheFuture@psu.edu using the subject line “Mentoring 2026 Application”. 

Make sure to include the following in the letter:

  • Your academic interests in graduate studies (i.e., what kinds of programs you would be interested in applying to)
  • Previous experience (if any) with studying languages, linguistics, literatures, and cultures
  • Your commitment, interest, or experience with diversity in academic settings
  • Any personal experience you believe might be relevant
