Regular University Park summer tuition and fees, including information technology, facilities, and activity fees, will apply for all students.
How to Register
Penn State Students
Current Penn State undergraduate and graduate students should register in LionPATH. Please consult with your academic adviser beforehand to make sure the courses you are registering for are appropriate for your major.
Note: Former Penn State students wishing to resume study toward an undergraduate degree after an absence of one or more semesters (not counting a summer session) should complete the Undergraduate Re-enrollment Form and send it together with the registration form to langinst@psu.edu. Former Penn State students will be charged according to how many credits they have accrued.
Non–Penn State Graduate Students
- If you require a graduate transcript, contact the graduate school at 814-865-1795.
- If you do not require a graduate transcript, complete the Undergraduate Nondegree Enrollment Form. Email the completed form to langinst@psu.edu. After your form has been processed, you will receive an email with instructions on activating your account and enrolling.
Non–Penn State Undergraduate Students
Complete the Undergraduate Nondegree Enrollment Form. Email the completed form to langinst@psu.edu . After your form has been processed, you will receive an email with instructions on activating your account and enrolling.
High School Students
We welcome high school students with high academic aspirations and a serious interest in world languages to participate in our intensive summer courses. All high students should first email Dr. Elena Galinova, Academic Director of the Language Institute (galinova@psu.edu) to inform her about their plans to take an intensive language course and to confirm the course(s) appropriate for them. Please note that if students plan to take a level higher than the beginning one, they may need to be interviewed by the coordinator of the respective language program unless they have taken the previous level at Penn State. After they have confirmed their plan, they should review the course details in LionPATH and then complete the High School Student Registration Packet.
Please carefully review the instructions in the packet to ensure proper processing. Because the high school student registration materials must go through a review process, it is recommended that the packet be submitted no later than two weeks before the start of class.
Please note that an academic advising appointment with a Division of Undergraduate Studies adviser is a required step in the registration process and should be scheduled as soon as the student is issued a Penn State ID number. They will receive an email from the Registrar about this.
Cancellations or Changes
You will be notified of any cancellations or changes. If some unforeseen event forces Penn State to cancel or postpone the program, you will receive a full refund of your registration fee.
Refunds/Cancellation
Cancellations must be made BEFORE the first day of class for a full tuition refund. Students with access to LionPATH can do so through their LionPATH accounts. All other individuals must contact us at langinst@psu.edu.
Cancellations on or after the first day of class are subject to the University Tuition Adjustment Schedule and result in partial or no tuition refund. Also note that adjustments are based on the tuition amount only. The information technology fee, activities fee, and facilities fee are nonrefundable.
